Many lovely one of you have inquired after the Summer Terrace. Thank you for your extreme interest, but this summer we will be focusing on organizing private events and thus we will not open the Terrace to the individuals.
Our entire yard area, as well Terrace area, has been calmed down for private events.
We believe that the best memories come from shared moments with the people who matter to you.
At Apaja, we want to provide the best possible framework for this. The unique, traditional milieu of Central Finland on the shores of Lake Päijänne brings the visitor into their own world for a moment. Hospitality is vital to us – we will help you succeed in organizing your event with a big heart.
We also respect locality in Apaja’s kitchen. We make first-class tasty food, ourselves, by hands from the pure ingredients of the farms and suppliers in Central Finland. We want to take advantage of different cooking methods, from charcoal, smoking and open fire. As a private restaurant, we can take care of the privacy of your event, so you can focus only on the most important thing.
For Kätlin, seasonal local ingredients play a key role in cooking. In the kitchen, she cooks the most of the lamb and the pike in the nearby waters. She uses mint and honey from Apaja’s own yard to season desserts and salads.
When Kätlin Savela, our head of cuisine, sets off, she is in her element in the kitchen, by the open fire and in our garden. When you dine at Apaja, you not only see the food but you also see how the food is prepared.
